European Basketball Players Association (U.B.E.) forms "Special Players Department" for Euroleague Players

A conflict is brewing in Europe over the decision of the Euroleague to impose a "standard player contract" (sound familiar?). At a meeting of representatives from European players associations at the GIBA offices in Bologna it was decided to form a "Special Players Department" for Euroleague players in order to represent players directly at the European level. This new players department will bridge all existing associations and afford players representation and protection in countries where there currently is no players association.
